-Secures Position in Top 100 State Universities in Separate Ranking
-Improved National Ranking to Boost Academic Momentum: Dr. Jagdeep Singh

Punjabi University has marked a significant achievement by securing a place among the top 200 universities in India, as per the National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) 2025, released by the Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India. Additionally, the university has been listed among the top 100 state universities in a separate ranking. Vice-Chancellor Dr. Jagdeep Singh announced that the university is positioned in the 51-100 band in the state universities list. He also highlighted that the Department of Pharmacy at Punjabi University secured the 59th rank nationwide in the pharmacy category.
Expressing his delight, Dr. Jagdeep Singh stated that this improved ranking enhances the university’s reputation, uplifts the morale of its community, and makes it eligible for funding from various agencies that support top-ranking institutions. He credited this success to the collective efforts of the university’s faculty, non-teaching staff, students, research scholars, officers, and governing bodies. Dr. Singh also extended gratitude to the Government of India and the Punjab Government for their funding support for research projects, which played a crucial role in achieving this recognition.
Dr. Singh emphasized that the rise in national academic rankings will infuse positive energy across the university, inspiring greater dedication. He reiterated that Punjabi University’s core mission is to promote Punjabi language, literature, and culture, earning global recognition for these efforts. The university’s contributions in these areas have significantly contributed to its national ranking, a matter of immense pride.
Dean of Academic Affairs, Prof. Jaswinder Singh Brar, congratulated the university community, noting that climbing the NIRF rankings is a remarkable achievement. Registrar Dr. Davinderpal Singh Sidhu attributed the university’s consistent success to its unique academic environment.
The university’s Internal Quality Assurance (IQA) Cell, responsible for collecting and submitting data for such rankings, was also commended. Prof. Dharmveer Sharma, Director of the IQA Cell, and Prof. Umrao Singh, Coordinator, expressed their joy and thanked all departments for providing timely and accurate data, which ensured the effective presentation of the university’s achievements.
