Punjab’s Military Legacy Grows Stronger with Two New Navy Officers
• Dhuri’s Arpit and Mohali’s Vishesh take MRSAFPI’s Navy officer tally to 24
• Aman Arora congratulates the duo and wishes them success in serving the nation
Chandigarh/SAS Nagar, May 28:
Punjab’s proud military tradition reached another milestone today as two cadets of the Maharaja Ranjit Singh Armed Forces Preparatory Institute (MRSAFPI), Arpit Parashar (9th Course) and Vishesh Sood (10th Course), were commissioned as officers in the Indian Navy during the Passing Out Parade (POP) held at the Indian Naval Academy (INA), Ezhimala, Kerala.
The grand parade was reviewed by Vice Admiral Sameer Saxena, AVSM, NM, Flag Officer Commanding-in-Chief of the Southern Naval Command.
Cadet Arpit, a resident of Dhuri in Sangrur district, and Cadet Vishesh from SAS Nagar (Mohali), underwent two years of rigorous training at MRSAFPI, followed by three years at the National Defence Academy (NDA) and one year of specialized naval training at the Indian Naval Academy. Both officers are now set to take up operational duties in the Indian Navy shortly.
Congratulating the newly commissioned officers, Punjab Employment Generation, Skill Development and Training Minister Mr. Aman Arora said that the Chief Minister S. Bhagwant Singh Mann-led Punjab Government is fully committed to transforming the aspirations of Punjab’s youth into excellence in the armed forces.
“These young officers have made Punjab proud, and many more will follow in their footsteps,” said Aman Arora. He further shared that with the commissioning of Arpit and Vishesh, the total number of MRSAFPI cadets commissioned as officers in the Indian Navy has now reached 24, marking a significant achievement for the institute.

Director of MRSAFPI, Major General Ajay H. Chauhan, VSM (Retd.), said that apart from today’s success, 24 more cadets of the institute have successfully cleared their SSB interviews and are awaiting joining letters for various training academies for courses commencing in June 2026.
He extended his best wishes to the young officers for a successful and distinguished career in the service of the nation.
