Chandigarh, July 26,

In a major move to enhance citizen-centric governance, the Punjab Government has introduced 30 Transport Department services, including Registration Certificate (RC) and Driving Licence (DL), at Sewa Kendras and through Doorstep Delivery. This initiative aims to eliminate the need for citizens to visit Regional Transport Offices (RTOs) or depend on agents, according to Aman Arora, Punjab’s Minister of Good Governance and Information Technology (GG&IT).

Aman Arora chaired a high-level meeting at MGSIPA with senior officials and all Deputy Commissioners to assess the progress of the recently launched Revenue and Transport Department services at Sewa Kendras and via Doorstep Delivery.

Key services now accessible include six Revenue Department offerings—such as Deed Registration, Mutation based on Inheritance, Mutation based on Registered Deed, Fardbadar (Record Correction), Rapat, Request for Subscription & Digitally Signed Fard Copy—and the aforementioned 30 Transport Department services. These are available at Sewa Kendras and through Doorstep Delivery by dialing the helpline number 1076 from home under the “Bhagwant Mann Sarkar Tuhade Dwaar” scheme.

Aman Arora directed Deputy Commissioners to ensure seamless implementation of this initiative and take strict action against any official found compelling citizens to make repeated visits to government offices by raising unnecessary objections for these services.

“The Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann-led Punjab Government is dedicated to making public services more accessible and user-friendly. This step will benefit thousands of citizens by reducing inconvenience and improving their experience,” Arora stated. He emphasized the state government’s ongoing efforts to transform Government-to-Citizen (G2C) services by ensuring transparency, efficiency, and eliminating exploitation and unofficial fees.

He also urged Deputy Commissioners to raise public awareness about accessing these services conveniently at Sewa Kendras and through Doorstep Delivery. Arora encouraged citizens to utilize this initiative, highlighting the ease of accessing services from home via the 1076 helpline, which eliminates the need for office visits. He further noted that facilitation charges for Doorstep Delivery have been slashed from Rs 120 to just Rs 50.

The meeting was attended by senior officials, including Additional Chief Secretary Revenue  Anurag Verma, Additional Chief Secretary Good Governance & IT  DK Tiwari, Administrative Secretary Transport  Varun Roojam, Secretary Revenue  Sonali Giri, Director GG&IT  Amit Talwar, and State Transport Commissioner  Jaspreet Singh.
