-Recruitment to be conducted in phased manner over two years
Chandigarh, 20 November
In a major boost to alternative healthcare services in Punjab, Finance Minister Advocate Harpal Singh Cheema announced that the Finance Department has cleared the revival and filling of 115 long-vacant posts in the Directorate of Homeopathy.
Break-up of Approved Posts:
- Homeopathic Medical Officer (HMO): 42 posts
- Homeopathic Dispenser: 72 posts
- Clerk: 1 post
The recruitment drive will be carried out in a phased manner over the next two years, the Minister stated in an official communiqué.
Cheema, who also chairs the Cabinet Sub-Committee on employees’ issues, revealed that the decision followed detailed discussions with the Homeopathic Medical Officers Association. The department had been functioning with severe staff shortages — operating the Homeopathic Medical College & Hospital and numerous dispensaries at full capacity with only 22 permanent posts filled so far.
