Rohit Sharma Breaks World Record, Becomes Captain with Most Sixes in International Cricket

Indian cricket team captain Rohit Sharma has achieved a remarkable feat. During his blistering half-century against Sri Lanka on Friday, he surpassed England’s former captain Eoin Morgan to become the captain with the most sixes in the history of international cricket.

Chasing a target of 231 runs, Rohit provided a blazing start to the Indian innings. His intent was clear from the very first over, where he hit a six off the second ball and a boundary off the fifth. Rohit played a scintillating knock of 58 runs off 47 balls, including seven fours and three sixes. This innings propelled him to the top of the list of captains with the most sixes in international cricket. He surpassed Eoin Morgan, who had previously held the record with 233 sixes. India’s legendary captain MS Dhoni is third on the list with 211 sixes, followed by Ricky Ponting with 171 and Brendon McCullum with 170.

Rohit now has an opportunity to set another record against Sri Lanka. He is just 11 sixes away from surpassing Shahid Afridi to become the captain with the most ODI sixes against Sri Lanka. Rohit has already hit 53 sixes against Sri Lanka, while Afridi holds the record with 64.
