State Election Commission Declares Zila Parishad and Panchayat Samiti Election Results
Chandigarh, 18 December 2025:
The State Election Commission, Punjab, on Wednesday declared the results of the general elections for members of 346 zones across 22 Zila Parishads and 2,838 zones across 153 Panchayat Samitis.
In the Zila Parishad elections, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) emerged victorious in 218 zones, followed by the Indian National Congress (INC) with 62 zones, Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) with 46 zones, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) with 7 zones, Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) with 3 zones, and Independent candidates with 10 zones.
In the Panchayat Samiti elections, AAP secured the highest number of zones with 1,531 wins, followed by INC with 612 zones, SAD with 445 zones, BJP with 73 zones, BSP with 28 zones, and Independents with 144 zones.
