Today, we introduce you to the legendary figure known as the Father of Indian Cricket, in whose honor the most prestigious tournament of India’s domestic cricket season, the Ranji Trophy, is named. Maharaja Jam Sahib Ranjitsinhji Jadeja of the princely state of Nawanagar in Gujarat was the first Indian to play Test and international cricket. He is still considered one of the greatest batsmen in the world. He is credited with introducing many new shots to the game of cricket.
