-Engages with Students at Morinda’s School of Eminence
-Views These Institutions as “Temples of the Modern Era”
Morinda (Rupnagar), October 23
Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann declared on Thursday that his administration is intensifying efforts to reshape the future of the state’s youth by equipping them to create jobs rather than merely seeking them.
During an interaction with students at Shaheed Subedar Mewa Singh School of Eminence in Morinda, the Chief Minister highlighted how the government has ushered in an “Education Revolution” in Punjab. This initiative is yielding positive outcomes by preparing students for future challenges and fostering their personal and professional growth. Mann noted that while the government has provided unprecedented employment opportunities, it is also directing the youth’s vast potential toward productive endeavors within the state.
Drawing an analogy, the Chief Minister compared the role of airport runways in enabling aircraft takeoffs to the state’s support in helping young people launch their aspirations. Launched in 2022, this “Education Revolution” aims to transform dreams into achievements for Punjab’s children. Mann expressed regret over past flawed policies that denied underprivileged kids access to quality education but praised the current transformative measures, which are gaining national recognition.

Key among these is the establishment of 118 Schools of Eminence across Punjab, backed by an investment exceeding Rs 231.74 crore. These institutions mark a significant step toward a promising future for disadvantaged students. Facilities include free uniforms and dedicated bus services for girls to ensure no one is excluded from education. Mann described these schools as “temples of the modern era,” poised to brighten the prospects of thousands. He took pride in the fact that even students from private schools are now applying for admission, underscoring the program’s appeal.
To further support students, specialized coaching is available for competitive exams like those for the armed forces, NEET, JEE, CLAT, and NIFT. Impressive results include 265 qualifications for JEE Mains, 44 for JEE Advanced, and 848 for NEET from Schools of Eminence and other government institutions. Additionally, the School Mentorship Programme pairs senior officials with students for guidance, while the introduction of Parent-Teacher Meetings (PTMs) has seen strong participation—nearly 25 lakh parents across Punjab’s 19,200 government schools. These steps are closing the quality and infrastructure divide between public and private education.
