The two toll plazas on the Patiala-Nabha-Malerkotla road have been closed after their operational licenses expired. Public Works Department (PWD) and Building and Roads (B&R) officials took control of the facilities and initiated the handover process from the toll company.

There is speculation that Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann might visit the site today to address the public.
The closure of these toll plazas, which were located just 40 kilometers apart in violation of regulations, has brought significant relief to the local industry, particularly in Nabha, a major hub for agricultural machinery manufacturing. The area attracts both domestic and international buyers.
PWD officials, including SDO and JE arrived at the toll plaza to complete the handover formalities.
