-Leads State-Level Event to Commemorate Martyr’s Death Anniversary

Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann paid heartfelt tributes to Shaheed Kartar Singh Sarabha on his martyrdom anniversary, announcing a Rs 45.84 crore initiative for the comprehensive development of the martyr’s native village, Sarabha. The CM also urged citizens to join the commemorative events marking the 350th martyrdom day of Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji at Sri Anandpur Sahib from November 23-25.
Speaking at a state-level function, CM Mann outlined the Rs 45.84 crore project aimed at transforming Sarabha village into a model village. The funds will support infrastructure upgrades, clean drinking water, sports facilities, defense training, and other amenities as a tribute to the revered freedom fighter. He emphasized that the state government is committed to honoring the martyr’s legacy through these efforts.
Mann also paid homage to Shaheed Kartar Singh Sarabha’s comrades—Vishnu Ganesh Pingle, Bakhshish Singh, Jagat Singh, Surein Singh (Senior), Harnam Singh Sialkoti, and Surein Singh (Junior)—who were executed alongside him. Highlighting Sarabha’s contributions, the CM noted that the 19-year-old revolutionary’s courage and sacrifice as a key Ghadar Party leader continue to inspire generations in the fight against foreign imperialism.
Reaffirming his government’s dedication to fulfilling the martyrs’ vision, Mann recalled taking his oath as CM in Shaheed Bhagat Singh’s ancestral village, Khatkar Kalan. He also visited Sarabha’s ancestral home to offer floral tributes during the event.

Key Development Projects for Sarabha Village:
- Rs 40 crore: Widening the two-lane road from Lalto Kalan to Sarabha, Raikot, and Halwara into a four-lane road, connecting directly to Halwara Airport.
- Rs 2.82 crore: Surface water supply scheme for clean drinking water.
- Rs 2 crore: Construction of a 10-metre indoor shooting range with a target safety system.
- Rs 89 lakh: Upgradation of the Forest Nursery with modern technology.
- Rs 10 lakh: Renovation of the basketball ground.
- Rs 3 lakh: Development of a volleyball court and installation of six concrete benches at the sports ground.
- Training Academy: Establishment of a security and police training academy, featuring a derelict MiG-21 aircraft for pilot and drone training.
The CM also highlighted the upcoming events for Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji’s 350th martyrdom day, which include light and sound shows, Nagar Kirtans, drone shows, and Kirtan Darbars. He encouraged Punjabis to participate in these programs to celebrate the Guru’s life and teachings.
