
- Pooja and Harvinder Singh to Compete in World Ranking Tournament in Italy and Para Asian Championship in China
Patiala, May 8:
Pooja and Harvinder Singh, archers from Punjabi University, have earned their places in the Indian archery team. The duo will represent India at the World Ranking Tournament in Italy in May 2025 and the Para Asian Championship in China in June 2025.
Dr. Gurdeep Kaur Randhawa, Director of the Sports Department, shared that both athletes have been diligently training at Punjabi University for the past decade. She noted that this marks the first time six archers from the university participated in the national trials. Another archer, Gurwinder Singh, also garnered attention with an outstanding performance in a short span.

Dr. Randhawa highlighted that 100–150 athletes practice archery daily on the university campus, reflecting the institution’s strong commitment to the sport.
Vice-Chancellor Prof. Karmjeet Singh, Dean of Academics Dr. Narinder Kaur Multani, and Registrar Dr. Sanjeev Puri congratulated the selected athletes, their coaches, and the Sports Department for this achievement.
