According to the Punjab government’s website, Banwari Lal Purohit is listed as the state’s governor. However, Punjab’s new governor, Gulab Chand Kataria, assumed office two days ago, on July 31. The website has yet to reflect this change, leading to confusion about whether Banwari Lal Purohit or Gulab Chand Kataria is the current governor. As of now, the website (www.punjab.gov.in) still displays a picture of Banwari Lal Purohit and has not been updated since the new governor’s appointment.

Sources indicate that the responsibility for updating the website was previously handled by the Information and Broadcasting Department but has now been outsourced to a private entity. This update has not yet been completed. As of the time of this report, the website remains outdated.
