The Punjab State Election Commissioner (SEC) , Raj Kamal Chaudhuri , announced that a total of 191 candidates remain in the fray following the conclusion of the withdrawal of nominations for the General Elections to the Municipal Councils of Tarn Taran (District Tarn Taran) , Dera Baba Nanak (District Gurdaspur) , and Talwara (District Hoshiarpur) .

He further disclosed the number of contesting candidates for each municipal council:
- Tarn Taran : 113 candidates
- Dera Baba Nanak : 37 candidates
- Talwara : 41 candidates
Polling and Counting Details
The elections will be held on March 2, 2025 , from 7:00 AM to 4:00 PM . In a unique arrangement, the counting of votes will take place on the same day at the polling stations immediately after the completion of the polling process.
