The Maharaja Ranjit Singh Armed Forces Preparatory Institute (MRSAFPI), SAS Nagar (Mohali) continues its phenomenal success story with a record 50 cadets presently undergoing training at the National Defence Academy (NDA) — the highest number from any single institute in its history.
This stellar achievement places MRSAFPI just behind the iconic Rashtriya Indian Military College (RIMC) in terms of current cadet strength at NDA. Adding to the pride, three distinguished MRSAFPI alumni are currently posted as Instructors at NDA, mentoring the future leadership of the Indian Armed Forces.
Congratulating the Director, faculty and training staff, Punjab Employment Generation, Skill Development & Training Minister Aman Arora said the institute has become a beacon of excellence and a matter of immense pride for Punjab. He urged the team to sustain this outstanding performance.
Giving details of the institute’s glorious journey, Minister Aman Arora informed that since its inception, 278 cadets have successfully joined various Service Training Academies, of whom 181 have already been commissioned as officers in the Army, Navy and Air Force.

- 7 cadets will pass out from Indian Military Academy (IMA) and Air Force Academy (AFA) on December 13, 2025
- 15 more cadets are set to join NDA and other premier academies this very month
Major General Ajay H Chauhan, VSM (Retd), Director MRSAFPI, announced that admissions are open for the 16th Course. Male students of Punjab domicile who have passed or are appearing in Class 10th can apply online at https://recruitment-portal.in latest by 15 December 2025. The entrance examination will be held on January 4, 2026 (Sunday).
