Rajkot/Patiala, 29 January (Sports Desk)

The Indian men’s cricket team suffered a 25-run defeat against England in the third T20I of the five-match series at the Niranjan Shah Stadium in Rajkot on Tuesday.

Despite restricting England to 171/9 with a brilliant five-wicket haul from Varun Chakravarthy (5/24), India failed to chase down the target, losing by 25 runs.

England’s Innings:

  • England, batting first, lost early wickets but recovered through a strong partnership between Ben Duckett and Jos Buttler.
  • However, the Indian bowlers, particularly Varun Chakravarthy and Axar Patel, stemmed the flow of runs, restricting England to a manageable total.
  • Liam Livingstone provided a late flourish with a quickfire 43, but England ultimately fell short of a more formidable score.

India’s Struggle in the Chase:

The Indian chase got off to a shaky start, losing early wickets. While Hardik Pandya (40) offered some resistance, the English bowlers, led by Jamie Overton (3/23) and Jofra Archer (2/24), maintained a tight grip on the game.
