The Indian men’s cricket team suffered a 25-run defeat against England in the third T20I of the five-match series at the Niranjan Shah Stadium in Rajkot on Tuesday.
Despite restricting England to 171/9 with a brilliant five-wicket haul from Varun Chakravarthy (5/24), India failed to chase down the target, losing by 25 runs.

England’s Innings:
- England, batting first, lost early wickets but recovered through a strong partnership between Ben Duckett and Jos Buttler.
- However, the Indian bowlers, particularly Varun Chakravarthy and Axar Patel, stemmed the flow of runs, restricting England to a manageable total.
- Liam Livingstone provided a late flourish with a quickfire 43, but England ultimately fell short of a more formidable score.
India’s Struggle in the Chase:
The Indian chase got off to a shaky start, losing early wickets. While Hardik Pandya (40) offered some resistance, the English bowlers, led by Jamie Overton (3/23) and Jofra Archer (2/24), maintained a tight grip on the game.

Series Standings:
Despite this loss, India still leads the five-match series 2-1. The remaining two matches will be played in Pune and Mumbai on Friday and Sunday, respectively
