Reinforcing Integrity: Punjab’s Fight Against Corruption

Chandigarh, October 21

Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant  Mann has suspended IPS officer Harcharan Singh Bhullar, recently arrested on corruption charges, reaffirming his government’s unwavering zero-tolerance policy toward corruption.

In a statement, the Chief Minister emphasized that corruption-free governance is central to his administration’s ethos, consistently demonstrated over the past four years. He reiterated that no individual found guilty of corrupt practices will be spared, regardless of their position. In line with this policy, Bhullar, arrested by a central agency, has been suspended effective October 16, 2025.

Mann underscored the government’s commitment to transparency, accountability, and integrity in public service, noting that corruption undermines public trust, weakens institutions, and hampers progress. He stressed that this action sends a clear message: there will be no selective enforcement in the fight against corruption, and no leniency will be shown to those involved, whether officers or politicians.

Since taking office in 2022, Mann’s government has pursued a relentless campaign against corruption, ensuring clean and transparent governance in Punjab.
