MLA Kohli Inaugurates Road Project from Mahindra College to Fuhara Chowk
-New Road to Be Constructed at a Cost of ₹5.30 Crore
Patiala, June 30
Patiala MLA Ajit Pal Singh Kohli today inaugurated the construction of the double-lane road from Mahindra College to Fuhara Chowk. The project will be completed at an estimated cost of ₹5.30 crore. Similar road development works have already been undertaken in various parts of the city, and more projects will be inaugurated in the coming days.
The inauguration was attended by Councillors Sagar Dhaliwal, Ramanpreet Kaur Kohli and Meena Devi, along with Executive Engineer Piyush Agarwal and SDO Gurminder Singh.
Speaking on the occasion, MLA Ajit Pal Singh Kohli said that, following the directions of the Punjab Chief Minister, road development works are being carried out on a priority basis to improve public convenience. He added that several roads in Patiala that had remained neglected for years have now been rebuilt and upgraded.
He further stated that the Punjab Government is continuously undertaking development works to strengthen infrastructure across both urban and rural areas of the state. Providing citizens with better roads, sewerage systems, clean drinking water, and other essential civic amenities remains one of the government’s top priorities.

The MLA said that the new road will significantly improve traffic movement for local residents while enhancing the overall appearance of the area. He noted that this is one of Patiala’s key arterial roads, connecting several parts of the city as well as villages located along the Dakala Road. With lakhs of commuters using this route every day, the government has prioritized its reconstruction to address public inconvenience and ensure smoother, safer travel.
