The International Cricket Council (ICC) has officially unveiled the host venues and tournament brand for the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup 2027, which will be jointly hosted by South Africa, Zimbabwe, and Namibia. The prestigious 50-over tournament will return to Africa after 24 years, marking a historic moment for cricket on the continent.
A grand launch ceremony in Johannesburg revealed 12 host venues spread across the three nations. South Africa will host matches in Johannesburg, Tshwane (Centurion), Cape Town, Durban, Gqeberha, Bloemfontein, Paarl, and Buffalo Park (KuGompo City). Zimbabwe’s venues include Harare Sports Club, Queens Sports Club in Bulawayo, and Fale Mosi-oa-Tunya International Cricket Stadium in Victoria Falls, while Windhoek, the capital of Namibia, will serve as the country’s host city.

The tournament will feature 14 teams and 57 matches, introducing a new three-stage competition format designed to increase competitiveness and enhance the fan experience.
The event will be held under the inspiring theme “Three Nations, One Heartbeat”, celebrating the unity, diversity, and shared passion for cricket across the three host nations. The tournament also embraces the African philosophy of “Ubuntu”—”I am because we are”—highlighting compassion, togetherness, and community.
ICC Chairman Jay Shah described the unveiling of the host cities and tournament identity as an important milestone on the road to the World Cup.
“The return of the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup to Africa after 24 years is a landmark moment for the sport. South Africa, Zimbabwe, and Namibia will deliver an unforgettable event, showcasing the region’s warmth, passion, and rich diversity,” he said.
ICC Chief Executive Officer Sanjog Gupta said the tournament would celebrate Africa’s vibrant cultures, sporting spirit, and growing influence in world cricket.
The official tournament branding is inspired by the African wire bowl, incorporating a vibrant colour palette representing the three host nations, symbolizing unity, heritage, and cultural richness.
Several cricket legends attended the launch event, including Graeme Smith, Makhaya Ntini, Hashim Amla, Temba Bavuma, Kagiso Rabada, Hamilton Masakadza, and Rudolf Jansen van Vuuren.
Namibia will make history by hosting its first-ever senior ICC tournament, while South Africa and Zimbabwe return as World Cup hosts after co-hosting the 2003 ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup.
Tournament Format

- A Super Series involving teams ranked 12th to 14th will determine the final qualifier for the main round.
- 12 teams will then compete in two groups of six in the league stage.
- The top teams will progress to the Super 7, followed by the semi-finals and the final, promising more high-quality and competitive cricket throughout the tournament.
