The Department of Physics at M.M. Modi College, Patiala, hosted an extension lecture to commemorate National Space Day. The event featured a captivating presentation by Dr. Shubhchintak, a Ramanujan Fellow from the Department of Physics at Punjabi University, Patiala.
The lecture, titled “From Big Bang to Bharat: The Cosmic Evolution and India’s Ascent in Space Exploration,” delved into the fascinating history of our universe and India’s significant contributions to space exploration. Dr. Shubhchintak expertly explained the concepts of cosmology, astronomy, and astrophysics, showcasing the interconnectedness between ancient wisdom and modern scientific advancements.

Dr. Rajeev Sharma, Dean of Physical Sciences and Head of the Chemistry Department, highlighted the historical significance of National Space Day, commemorating India’s successful lunar mission Chandrayaan-3.
The lecture was well-received by the audience, which included approximately 100 students from BSc (Non-Medical and Computer Science) and Mass Media programs. The event concluded with an interactive session, allowing students to ask questions and engage with the speaker.
