Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, accompanied by AAP convener and former Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, paid obeisance at Sri Harmandir Sahib, Bhagwan Valmiki Tirath Sthal, and Sri Durgiana Mandir on Sunday. The leaders reaffirmed their commitment to accelerating Punjab’s development and placing the state on a high growth trajectory.

Both leaders expressed their gratitude for the opportunity to serve Punjab’s people, pledging to follow the teachings of the great Sikh Gurus and work tirelessly for the state’s progress. They highlighted the transformative changes witnessed over the past three years and vowed to make Punjab a national leader in various fields within the next two years.

Key Achievements of the Punjab Government

Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann outlined several landmark achievements of his administration since assuming office in March 2022:

  • Free Power Initiative: Launched in 2022, this scheme provides free electricity to 90% of Punjab’s households, easing financial burdens for families and ensuring free, uninterrupted power for farmers.
  • Energy Sector Reforms: The government resumed coal supply from the Pachwara coal mines and made history by acquiring the Goindwal power plant from a private company, reversing the trend of privatization seen in previous administrations.
  • Youth Employment: In a record-breaking feat, over 51,000 merit-based government jobs have been provided to the youth in the past 36 months, free of corruption or nepotism.
  • Healthcare Revolution: The establishment of 881 Aam Aadmi clinics has revolutionized healthcare, benefiting over 2.70 crore people with quality medical services.
  • Education and Irrigation Improvements: The state is upgrading 118 Government Senior Secondary Schools into Schools of Eminence, while canal water usage for irrigation has risen from 21% to 75%, ensuring water reaches farmers at the tail ends and conserving groundwater.
  • Citizen-Centric Services: The “Bhagwant Mann Sarkar Tuhade Dwar” scheme delivers 43 essential services directly to citizens’ doorsteps, enhancing accessibility and convenience.
  • Communal Harmony and Investments: Punjab’s peaceful environment has attracted investments worth approximately Rs 94,000 crore in the past three years, with major companies like Tata Steel and Sanatan Textiles establishing operations in the state.

Additionally, the Mukh Mantri Teerth Yatra Scheme has enabled over 35,000 pilgrims to visit religious sites free of cost, while the Sadak Surakhya Force has reduced road accident casualties by 48.10% since its launch, earning praise from other states and the central government.
