AAP Punjab President Aman Arora: BJP is Trying to Disrupt the Election Atmosphere Out of Fear of Losing

Election Commission Must Act Against BJP Leaders Distributing Money Before Targeting AAP – Harpal Cheema

Chandigarh, January 31

The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Punjab leaders have strongly condemned the Election Commission’s raid on the official residence of Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann at Kapoorthala House in Delhi. Calling it a politically motivated move, AAP leaders denounced the action as an attempt to intimidate and target the party.

Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann took to social media to express his outrage, stating, “Today, an Election Commission team, accompanied by Delhi Police, arrived at my residence in Delhi for a raid. Meanwhile, BJP leaders are openly distributing cash in Delhi, yet no action is taken against them. This is nothing but an attempt to defame Punjabis at the BJP’s behest. It is highly condemnable.”

AAP Punjab President Aman Arora accused the BJP of orchestrating the raid due to its fear of losing the elections. “The BJP is resorting to dirty tricks because they know defeat is imminent. BJP leader Pravesh Verma has been caught distributing money multiple times, yet the Election Commission has remained silent. This biased action is clearly dictated by the BJP,” he said.

Arora further criticized the Election Commission’s selective approach. “The Commission is blatantly favoring the BJP while ignoring repeated reports of their leaders distributing cash to voters. Instead of taking action against them, they are targeting Punjabis. This is an attack on democracy,” he added.

Citing another example of alleged BJP misconduct, Arora highlighted how BJP candidate Kailash Gahlot was seen distributing money from his election office. “Time and again, AAP leaders have been raided, and nothing has ever been found. This raid will be no different—it is merely an act of political vendetta,” he remarked.

In a post on X, Arora wrote, “The BJP cannot accept that the Aam Aadmi Party is set to win and that they are on the path to defeat. The raid on Punjab CM’s residence in Delhi is yet another attempt to suppress Punjab and its people. But neither Punjab nor Delhi will tolerate this injustice.”

Punjab Finance Minister Harpal Singh Cheema also slammed the raid, calling it “a disgraceful act of political vendetta.” He emphasized that Bhagwant Mann is a democratically elected Chief Minister and such actions undermine democratic principles. “The Election Commission should first take action against BJP leaders who are openly distributing money instead of targeting the AAP government,” Cheema said.

AAP MLA Jeevan Jyot Kaur also condemned the raid, demanding to know when the Election Commission would take similar action against BJP leader Pravesh Verma. “The Election Commission is dancing to the BJP’s tune. This raid is nothing but a politically motivated attack, and we strongly oppose it,” she said.

AAP leaders have vowed to fight against these tactics, insisting that such moves will not deter them from their mission of clean governance and people-centric policies.
