AAP Secures Majority in Jalandhar Municipal Corporation, Set to Form Mayor

Five Councillors, Including Congress and BJP Members, Join AAP

Cabinet Ministers Harbhajan Singh ETO, Dr. Ravjot Singh, and Mohinder Bhagat Welcome New Members

Jalandhar/Chandigarh, December 23:
The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) is poised to appoint its mayor in Jalandhar Municipal Corporation after securing a majority. On Monday, five councillors—two from Congress, one from BJP, and two independents—joined the party, enabling AAP to achieve the crucial majority mark.

In a formal event attended by AAP Cabinet Ministers Harbhajan Singh ETO, Dr. Ravjot Singh, and Mohinder Bhagat, the councillors pledged their support to the party. With their inclusion, the Aam Aadmi Party now commands a total of 43 councillors in the municipal corporation, reaching the required number to form the mayoral post.

Among the new members, Congress councillors Manmeet Kaur (Ward No. 47) and Parveen Vasan (Ward No. 65), BJP councillor Sulekha (Ward No. 63), and independents Tarsem Singh (Ward No. 46) and Seema (Ward No. 81) joined AAP.

The five councillors expressed their confidence in AAP’s leadership and committed their full support to the party in municipal corporation affairs. With this strategic development, AAP is all set to lead Jalandhar Municipal Corporation, marking a significant political milestone for the party in the region.
