AAP Punjab President Aman Arora Launches Campaign, Promises Systematic Development to Make Ludhiana a Model City

The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) launched its municipal election campaign in Ludhiana on Sunday, with Punjab President Aman Arora announcing five major guarantees aimed at transforming the city into a clean, modern, and livable urban hub.
At a press conference attended by senior AAP leaders, candidates, and supporters, Arora assured residents that these commitments would be fulfilled on a priority basis if the party comes to power in Ludhiana’s Municipal Corporation.

AAP’s Five Guarantees for Ludhiana:
- Restoration of Buddha Dariya
Arora pledged to revitalize Buddha Dariya, which has deteriorated into a polluted drain. A comprehensive cleaning and restoration project will be initiated to restore its ecological balance and beauty. He emphasized stopping the discharge of untreated sewage and industrial waste while employing advanced technology for the river’s complete rejuvenation. - Access to Clean Drinking Water
AAP will ensure uninterrupted access to 100% clean drinking water for every household. Modern infrastructure will be developed to eliminate contamination and improve the overall health and quality of life for Ludhiana’s residents. - Combatting Pollution with Eco-Friendly Transportation
To address Ludhiana’s pollution crisis, Arora announced plans for 100 electric buses with supporting charging stations and depots. This initiative aims to modernize public transportation, reduce vehicular emissions, and provide eco-friendly travel options. - Sewerage Coverage and Waterlogging Solutions
Arora committed to achieving 100% sewerage coverage and implementing advanced drainage infrastructure to permanently solve the city’s waterlogging issues, especially during monsoons. - Comprehensive Waste Management
AAP plans to eliminate garbage dumps and waste hotspots across Ludhiana. Drawing from successful waste management models, Arora assured a systematic approach to maintain a clean city and transform waste sites into usable spaces. - Traffic Decongestion and Infrastructure Upgrades
Traffic congestion remains a persistent issue in Ludhiana. To address this, Arora announced plans for constructing four new bus stands, widening key roads, and resolving bottlenecks through modern infrastructure development.
Delivering on Promises
“Each of these guarantees has been carefully designed in consultation with experts and the community. They are not just promises but commitments that will begin implementation immediately after the mayor assumes office,” Arora stated. He assured that the projects would be completed within two years, bringing sustainable and impactful development to the city.
Highlighting AAP’s track record in Delhi and Punjab, Arora said Ludhiana’s residents are increasingly aligning with the party’s governance model. He expressed confidence that AAP would secure a sweeping victory in the municipal elections.

“Ludhiana deserves clean, sustainable, and efficient development. With the overwhelming support of the people, we are ready to lead the city into a new era of progress,” Arora concluded.
