Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Punjab President and Cabinet Minister Aman Arora inaugurated multiple development projects in Sunam and Cheema, including a newly constructed Tehsil Complex, sports stadiums, and a bridge, with a combined investment of crores of rupees. These projects reflect the AAP government’s dedication to enhancing local infrastructure and improving the lives of residents.
Tributes and New Initiatives
Arora began the day by paying homage at the birthplaces of Shaheed Udham Singh in Sunam and Sant Baba Atar Singh Ji in Cheema. He also participated in the Bhoomi Pujan ceremony for a grand temple being constructed by the Sri Haridas Nikunj Bihari Seva Samiti, Sunam, assuring full government support for the initiative.
Development Projects Inaugurated
- Tehsil Complex, Cheema – Built at a cost of ₹4.31 crores and dedicated to the public.
- Sports Stadium, Cheema – Foundation stone laid for a stadium to be constructed at ₹1.38 crores.
- Bridge on Cheema-Tolawal Road – Inaugurated at ₹2.34 crores, enhancing connectivity in the region.
- ITI Sunam Sports Stadium – Completed at a cost of ₹1.88 crores and handed over to the public.
Commitment to Transparent Governance
Speaking at the inauguration, Arora emphasized that these projects are a testament to the AAP government’s dedication and transparency.
“These projects are for the people, and I’m proud of their timely completion. It is now your responsibility to maintain and protect these facilities,” he said.
Arora credited Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann and Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal for their leadership and support. “Over the past two and a half years, we’ve addressed key infrastructure issues in Sunam, Longowal, and Cheema. When the intent is pure, everything falls into place,” he added.
Upcoming Municipal Elections: A New Challenge
Arora urged party workers to prepare for the upcoming Municipal Elections, emphasizing the importance of strengthening grassroots support.
“Our next challenge is to win every ward in the municipal elections. Only then can we continue accelerating development in Punjab,” he said.
He criticized previous governments for spending crores on infrastructure without lasting results due to corruption, highlighting AAP’s focus on transparency and accountability.
