Atishi to become Delhi’s next Chief Minister, third woman to hold the post

Atishi will be the next Chief Minister of Delhi. She will be the third woman to hold this position after Sheila Dikshit and Sushma Swaraj.
AAP party convener Arvind Kejriwal proposed Atishi’s name at the party’s legislative party meeting today. Subsequently, she was unanimously elected as the leader of the party’s legislative party.
Atishi is considered a trusted confidante of both Arvind Kejriwal and Manish Sisodia. On August 15th, Kejriwal had written a letter to the Lieutenant Governor, requesting permission for Atishi to hoist the Delhi flag.
