Dr. Baljit Kaur explained that the UDID card allows persons with disabilities to access all central and Punjab government schemes and services using a single identification document.

She stressed that the UDID card is crucial for availing benefits under various government schemes, including pensions, training, employment, and medical assistance. It simplifies access to government services for persons with disabilities.

Dr. Kaur also mentioned the Punjab government’s establishment of a disability cell, which acts as a single-window platform for providing scheme benefits to persons with disabilities. She encouraged individuals with disabilities to apply for UDID cards at Sewa Kendras, District Social Security Offices, or Civil Hospitals to maximize their access to government programs.
