BCCI Awards 2025: Bumrah and Mandhana Shine, Tendulkar Honored with Lifetime Achievement Award

Mumbai/Patiala, 01 February (Sports Desk)

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) announced the winners of its annual awards for the 2023-24 season, with Jasprit Bumrah and Smriti Mandhana headlining the list as the Best International Cricketers of the Year in the men’s and women’s categories, respectively. The awards recognize outstanding performances across international and domestic cricket.

Jasprit Bumrah’s stellar year, marked by crucial spells in India’s T20 World Cup triumph and a remarkable Test performance (71 wickets, the most by an Indian pacer in a calendar year after Kapil Dev), earned him the prestigious Polly Umrigar Award for the third time. He joins an exclusive club of players who have won this award multiple times.

Smriti Mandhana’s exceptional form, particularly in ODIs where she amassed 747 runs at an average of 57.46 and scored a record-breaking four centuries, secured her the Best International Cricketer of the Year (women) award for the third time. Her achievements were further validated by the ICC, who named her the Women’s ODI Cricketer of the Year.

Sarfaraz Khan and Asha Sobhana were recognized for their impressive international debuts in the men’s and women’s categories, respectively.
