On the occasion of World Father’s Day, a Workshop on ‘Saving Precious Lives’ was organised by ‘Center for Disaster Response and Training’ at Sai Old Age Home, Chaura, Patiala. Renowned disaster management expert, Prof. Dr. Jog Bhatia, who is working as a Senior Consultant at MGSIPA, Govt. of Punjab, was invited as a chief guest who gave a lecture on psychological and health problems faced by old age persons at multipurpose hall. He motivated them to remain happy and feel belongingness with the colleagues and other inmates of Old Age Home. He highlighted the problems faced during old age. During his session, he demonstrated basic lifesaving skills. He emphasised that with the lifesaving skills, we can save and sustain life, in case of emergency, where doctor is not available on the spot. Before the availability of ambulance or higher medical care, how we can help our people and save precious lives. He further gave demonstration on Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR). Dr. Jog Bhatia, on this occasion motivated old age home inmates to remain fit and healthy by keeping happy, sharing belongingness with each other and developing small missions in life, like learning something, doing exercise, helping someone etc. In this way, they can keep themselves busy in a productive way and keep away mental stress and anxiety.
