Patiala, July 11: Following the guidelines issued by the Director of the Punjab Health and Family Welfare Department, an awareness poster was released at the Civil Surgeon’s Office in Patiala to mark World Population Day.
Releasing the poster, Civil Surgeon Dr. Shaili Jaitly said that an awareness campaign is organized every year on July 11 to mark World Population Day. The observance aims to raise public awareness about issues related to population growth, including family planning, maternal and child health, gender equality, and reproductive health.
She emphasized that a small and happy family is the foundation of a healthy society and urged people to adopt safe family planning methods while availing themselves of the free services available at government health institutions.

On the occasion, District Family Welfare Officer Dr. Balkar Singh informed that a week-long awareness campaign will be conducted from July 11 to July 18. During the campaign, health education sessions, counselling programmes, and awareness activities will be organized across all health institutions to ensure that the message of family planning reaches as many people as possible.
Among those present at the event were District Epidemiologist (IDSP) Dr. Divjot Singh, Medical Officer Dr. Sanveer Rai, District Programme Manager Ritika Grover, District Media Officers Kulveer Kaur and Jasjit Kaur, and BEE Shayan Zafar, along with other officials.
