CM Advances ‘Mission Rozgar’ as 50,892 Youth Secured Jobs in 35 Months

Hands Over Appointment Letters to 497 Youth, Criticizes Opposition for ‘Selective Blindness’

Chandigarh, February 19:

Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann continued his flagship initiative, ‘Mission Rozgar,’ by handing over appointment letters to 497 youth on Wednesday. This marked a significant milestone as the Punjab government has now provided employment to 50,892 youth in the past 35 months, transforming the lives of thousands of families since assuming office.

The appointment letters were distributed across key departments, including Water Supply and Sanitation, School Education, Higher Education and Languages, Rural Development, Science, Technology, and Environment.

A Historic Achievement in Employment Generation

Addressing the gathering at the Municipal Bhawan , Chief Minister Mann described the occasion as a proud moment for the state. He emphasized that these youth are now becoming an integral part of the Punjab government family and expressed hope that they will actively contribute to the socio-economic development of the state.

Mann highlighted that this is the first time in Punjab’s history that any government has provided such a record number of jobs—50,892 in just 35 months —entirely on the basis of merit , free from corruption or nepotism.

“The opposition parties criticize us out of ‘selective blindness,’” said Mann. “They refuse to acknowledge the thousands of youth who have been given jobs under our government. During their tenure, they never provided jobs to the common man. Even if jobs were given, they were reserved for their near and dear ones, leaving the average citizen ignored.”

Transparent Recruitment Process

The Chief Minister stressed that the state government has adopted a foolproof mechanism for the recruitment process, ensuring complete transparency. As a result, not a single appointment out of the nearly 50,000 jobs has been challenged in court so far.

“This is a proud moment for Punjab,” Mann stated. “These jobs have been given purely on merit, reflecting our commitment to fairness and equal opportunity.”

Encouraging Youth to Stay and Work in Punjab

Citing recent incidents of Indian youth being deported from countries like the USA, Mann urged Punjab’s youth to focus on opportunities within the state rather than seeking uncertain futures abroad.

“Instead of chasing dreams overseas, our youth should work hard here and achieve success in various fields,” he said. “We are providing numerous opportunities for them to excel, and the results are visible—over 51,000 youth have secured government jobs through dedication and hard work.”

Mann also pointed out the growing trend of reverse migration , with many youth returning from abroad to join government services in Punjab. He shared inspiring examples, such as a couple who returned from Canada to serve in Punjab and a young man who abandoned plans to go abroad after securing a job in the state.

“This government is committed to offering jobs daily, and our youth should seize these opportunities to build their futures here,” Mann added.

Transforming Lives, Creating Opportunities

Describing the event as a historic juncture , the Chief Minister envisioned that these jobs would transform the destinies of countless families. He noted that the venue has hosted numerous such events where youth have been recruited into various government departments, reflecting the state government’s unwavering commitment to the welfare of its youth.

Congratulating the newly appointed youth, Mann urged them to serve the people with dedication and integrity. “You are now part of the government family,” he said. “Use your roles to help the needy and underprivileged sections of society. Ensure maximum welfare for the public so that every segment of society benefits.”
