CM Mann Promises Severe Penalty for Attempt to Vandalize Baba Sahib Ambedkar’s Statue

Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann pledged on Monday that severe and exemplary punishment will be imposed on the individual who attempted to vandalize the statue of Bharat Ratna Dr. BR Ambedkar at Heritage Street in Amritsar on Sunday.

Describing the incident as deeply unfortunate and tragic, the Chief Minister noted that it has wounded the sentiments of everyone who holds Baba Sahib Ambedkar, the chief architect of the Indian Constitution, in high regard. He appealed to the public to maintain restraint while stressing that strict action will be taken against those involved in such deplorable acts. Mann firmly stated that no one will be permitted to disrupt the hard-earned peace in the state, and any attempts by anti-Punjab elements to provoke communal discord will be countered.

The Chief Minister reiterated that the state government is fully vigilant and committed to thwarting the malicious plans of anti-social and anti-national elements aiming to create unrest in Punjab.
