Under Mission Rozgar, Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann has set a new milestone, with over 55,000 government jobs provided to the state’s youth in just 36 months. On Tuesday, during an event where more than 700 teachers received appointment letters, the CM congratulated the new recruits, expressing confidence in their dedication. He emphasized that these jobs were earned through hard work and secured via a transparent process, a cornerstone of his administration’s focus on youth employment. Mann highlighted the ongoing Education Revolution, marked by significant upgrades to school infrastructure across Punjab.
The CM underscored the government’s commitment to quality education, citing groundbreaking initiatives and a streamlined recruitment system. He noted that vacant posts are filled promptly, with a foolproof process ensuring that none of the 55,000+ appointments have faced legal challenges. Mann proudly stated that merit-based hiring has restored the youth’s trust in government jobs, reversing the trend of migration abroad. Educational institutions, he added, are now seeing a surge in admissions as young Punjabis opt to stay and prepare for local opportunities.
Lambasting past governments for neglecting the youth, Mann remarked that those who once denied jobs are now out of power, ousted by the people. “It’s ironic—youth are now employed, while those who ruined their prospects are jobless,” he quipped. He accused previous regimes of looting Punjab, emotionally wounding its people, and fostering mafias, but assured that his government is undoing the damage. With relentless efforts, Mann vowed to transform Punjab into a vibrant ‘Rangla Punjab,’ leaving no stone unturned across all sectors.

Mann also highlighted initiatives to enhance teaching, including sending educators abroad and to top national institutes for training. This, he said, has boosted admissions in government schools, fueling an education revolution. With sufficient staff now in place, teachers and principals can focus solely on education. Urging teachers to join the fight against drugs under ‘Yudh Nasheyan Virudh,’ he called them nation-builders, tasked with guiding youth to combat the drug menace. Mann noted that the government has already disrupted drug supply chains, jailed major traffickers, and confiscated their properties.
The CM also pointed to the success of Parents-Teachers Meetings (PTMs) in government schools, where lakhs of parents engage with teachers about their children’s progress and school offerings. On governance, Mann reiterated a zero-tolerance stance on corruption, promising strict action against erring officials and a transparent, responsive administration delivering services at people’s doorsteps.
Addressing the new recruits, Mann welcomed them as vital cogs in the government machinery, urging them to serve with zeal and use their roles to uplift the needy. He expressed hope that they would prioritize public welfare, ensuring benefits reach every corner of society.
