Dinanagar, July 29:
To streamline traffic in the historic city of Dinanagar, Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann dedicated the newly constructed Railway Over Bridge (ROB) on the Amritsar-Pathankot Railway section near Dina Nagar railway station in Gurdaspur district on Monday.
Built at a cost of ₹51.74 crore, the ROB is a significant gift from the Chief Minister to the residents of Dinanagar. It replaces level crossing C-60 on the Amritsar-Pathankot Railway section. The project, which includes both railway and approach works, is entirely state-funded. The 730-meter long and 10.5-meter wide bridge, featuring 0.75-meter wide footpaths on both sides, service roads, and highway lights, was initiated in December 2019 and has been completed on schedule.
The ROB also provides ample parking spaces under the bridge, furnished with paver tiles. This project is crucial for the residents as it alleviates traffic congestion and provides a smoother commute.

By eliminating level crossing C-60 on the Amritsar-Pathankot Railway Line, the ROB ensures uninterrupted traffic flow from border villages to Dinanagar City and further to NH-54. It also serves as a strategic route for defense movements, enhancing the unity, integrity, and sovereignty of the country.
