CM Bhagwant Mann Welcomes Jagdish Raja and Anita Raja into the AAP Fold
Jalandhar, December 10
In a significant political shift ahead of the upcoming Municipal Corporation elections, Jalandhar’s former Mayor Jagdish Raja and Ward 65 Councillor Anita Raja have joined the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP). This move deals a major blow to the Congress Party and boosts AAP’s prospects in Jalandhar.
Jagdish Raja, a veteran leader representing Ward 64, has been a councillor since 1991, earning a reputation as a seasoned figure in local governance. Anita Raja, a former Senior Deputy Mayor and current councillor, has similarly played a key role in shaping the city’s political landscape.
The Rajas were formally welcomed into AAP by Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann in the presence of Jalandhar West MLA and Minister Mohinder Bhagat, as well as AAP Punjab Working President Amansher Singh Sharry Kalsi.
Speaking at the event, CM Bhagwant Mann hailed the development as evidence of AAP’s growing credibility. “The decision of Jagdish Raja and Anita Raja to join AAP underscores their belief in honest and transparent governance. Their vast experience will undoubtedly strengthen our mission to deliver accountable leadership in Jalandhar,” he said.
