85,182 candidates to appear at 165 centres across 6 districts

The Punjab Public Service Commission (PPSC) has completed all arrangements for the Punjab Civil Services (PCS) Combined Preliminary Competitive Examination scheduled for tomorrow, 7 December 2025.
PPSC Chairman Major General Vinayak Saini (Retd) informed that 85,182 candidates have applied for the exam. To ensure a fair, transparent and smooth process, 165 examination centres have been set up across six districts:
- Chandigarh
- Patiala
- S.A.S. Nagar (Mohali)
- Ludhiana
- Fatehgarh Sahib
- Sangrur
These centres are divided into 222 blocks. The Punjab government has appointed Secretary-level officers as District In-Charge Observers, along with separate observers for strict monitoring.

PPSC Secretary Charanjit Singh said the exam will be conducted in two sessions:
- Paper-I (General Studies): 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM
- Paper-II (CSAT – Civil Services Aptitude Test): 3:00 PM – 5:00 PM
Note: CSAT is qualifying in nature; candidates need only 40% marks to clear it.

- CCTV surveillance & videography at all centres
- Biometric verification
- Mobile jammers installed
- Multi-layered frisking and flying squads
Admit cards and detailed instructions were uploaded on the official PPSC website about 10 days ago for the convenience of candidates.
The Commission has urged all candidates to reach their centres well in advance and strictly follow all guidelines.
