Deep Conspiracy Against Arvind Kejriwal: CM Atishi and CM Bhagwant Mann Raise Grave Security Concerns

New Delhi/Chandigarh, 24 January
Aam Aadmi Party leaders Delhi Chief Minister Atishi and Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann have sounded an alarm over the alleged threats to AAP National Convenor Arvind Kejriwal. Both leaders have written to the Election Commission demanding the reinstatement of Punjab Police personnel in Kejriwal’s security detail, citing a “deep conspiracy” to harm him, allegedly orchestrated by the BJP and Home Minister Amit Shah.
Addressing a press conference, CM Atishi accused BJP workers and Delhi Police of colluding to compromise Kejriwal’s safety. She stated, “A massive conspiracy is underway to assassinate Arvind Kejriwal. BJP workers repeatedly attack him during his public events, while the Delhi Police, functioning under Amit Shah, does nothing to protect him.

Allegations of Repeated Attacks by BJP Workers
Atishi detailed a series of attacks on Kejriwal, including:
- October 24: An attack in Vikaspuri by alleged BJP workers, with Delhi Police failing to intervene.
- November 30: An attempted assault in Malviya Nagar.
- January 18: Stone pelting in New Delhi constituency.
- January 23: Disruption of his convoy in Hari Nagar.
She emphasized that in every instance, the attackers were identified as BJP workers, but no action was taken against them.
Concerns Over Security Lapses
“The BJP claims Arvind Kejriwal has Z+ security, yet such repeated attacks happen in the presence of Delhi Police. No other Z+ protectee has faced such blatant threats,” Atishi added. She alleged that Delhi Police, controlled by the BJP, is complicit in the conspiracy, citing deliberate inaction during attacks.

CM Bhagwant Mann echoed these concerns, saying, “The withdrawal of Punjab Police from Kejriwal’s security, just days before elections, exposes the BJP’s intent to harm him. Punjab Police played a crucial role in foiling many such plots.”
Election Commission Petition
Both leaders have called upon the Election Commission to:
- Review Kejriwal’s Security: Conduct a comprehensive review and implement stronger measures.
- Reinstate Punjab Police Security: Ensure a reliable, impartial security detail for Kejriwal.
Bhagwant Mann further condemned the role of Delhi Police, saying, “They act as BJP workers, refusing to file FIRs despite repeated complaints. This is a direct threat to democracy.”
