Delhi Challengers Cricket Club Post 299/8

In a one-day league match of the 29th All India JP Atray Memorial Cricket Tournament 2024 held at Dhruv Pandav Stadium, Patiala, Delhi Challengers Cricket Club faced off against HPCA. Winning the toss, Delhi Challengers opted to bat first and posted a formidable 299 runs for the loss of 8 wickets in their allotted 50 overs. Shivm Sharma’s splendid 75 and captain Kaif Ahmed’s magnificent 74 were the highlights of their innings.

Delhi Challengers’ openers Shivm Sharma and Shivm Singh began the innings. However, Shivm Singh departed early, without scoring, after facing just four balls. Following Shivm Singh’s dismissal, wicketkeeper Shakir Habib Gandhi joined Shivm Sharma and contributed a valuable 32-run partnership. Gaurav Chauhan scored 39, Lalit Yadav made 40, captain Kaif Ahmed contributed 74, Ayush Jamwal and Shiv Sharma chipped in with 3 runs each. Ritvik Roy Choudhary scored 18, and Vikas Singh remained unbeaten on 1.

Setting a target of 300 runs for HPCA, Delhi Challengers bowlers put up a commendable performance. Divyam Choudhary scored 51, Ritik scored 40, and Devvrat contributed 68 runs with a wicket each for HPCA. Mukel Negi picked up 3 wickets for 36 runs, while Paras Dhanek claimed 2 wickets for 58 runs.

The Delhi Challengers put up a dominant performance, setting a challenging target for HPCA. The key factors contributing to their victory were:
