Delhi Challengers Cruise to a Massive 183-Run Victory

In a one-day league match of the 29th All India JP Atray Memorial Cricket Tournament 2024 held at Dhruv Pandav Stadium, Patiala, Delhi Challengers Cricket Club thrashed HPCA by a massive 183 runs. HPCA could only manage 116 runs for the loss of nine wickets. One of HPCA’s players was unable to play due to injury. Notably, Delhi Challengers had won the toss and elected to bat first, posting a formidable 299 runs for the loss of 8 wickets in their allotted 50 overs. Kaif Ahmed was adjudged the Player of the Match, while Shivam Sharma was awarded the Best Batsman and Ayush was named the Best Bowler.

Chasing a mammoth target of 300, HPCA’s innings got off to a steady start with openers Ritviz and wicketkeeper Abhishek Thakur. However, both were dismissed after contributing 25 and 15 runs, respectively. Mukul Negi and Ujjwal Sharma tried to steady the ship with scores of 22 and 23, but none of the other batsmen could stay at the crease for long. Prashant Tomar, Devvrat, Shorya Garg, Ritik, Paras, and Divyam Choudhary all failed to make significant contributions. The HPCA captain, Sumit Verma, was unable to play due to an injury.

For Delhi Challengers, Ayush Jamwal was the pick of the bowlers, claiming four wickets for 33 runs. Shivam Singh picked up three wickets for 25 runs, while Lalit Yadav and Vikas Singh claimed one wicket each.
