Dr. Preeti Yadav, a seasoned IAS officer from the 2014 batch, assumed the role of Deputy Commissioner (DC) for Patiala today. She succeeds Shaukat Ahmed Pare, who was transferred to the post of DC for Bathinda.
Dr. Yadav is no stranger to Patiala, having previously served as the Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) here. Her familiarity with the district will be an asset as she sets her sights on further development.
Focus on Delivering Government Schemes to Public
Dr. Yadav emphasized that her top priority is ensuring all government schemes effectively reach the people at the grassroots level. She pledged to align her efforts with both the directives of Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann and the needs expressed by the public.

Open Invitation to Public Participation
In a move to foster collaboration, Dr. Yadav extended a warm invitation to residents of the district to share their suggestions for improvement. She expressed a commitment to taking immediate action on any constructive ideas. Residents can submit their suggestions via email to dc.ptl@punjab.gov.in, assuring them that she personally reviews every message. Dr. Yadav further stated that her office doors are always open to anyone facing difficulties or encountering issues with government offices.

Environmental Initiative: A Greener Patiala
Highlighting the importance of environmental sustainability, Dr. Yadav stressed her alignment with Chief Minister Mann’s initiative to increase green cover throughout Punjab. To combat rising temperatures, she urged all citizens to actively participate in protecting existing greenery and planting new trees.
Welcome and Farewell Ceremony
Upon arrival at the district administrative complex, Dr. Preeti Yadav received a Guard of Honor by a contingent of the Punjab Police. The event also served as a farewell ceremony for outgoing DC Shaukat Ahmed Pare. Officers and staff from various branches of the Deputy Commissioner’s office offered their well wishes to both Dr. Yadav and Mr. Pare.
