Case Background
A recent complaint filed with the SSP Faridkot accused DSP Rajanpal of accepting money to resolve a matrimonial dispute. In response, the officer allegedly attempted to offer a ₹1 lakh bribe to the SSP’s office to settle the complaint against him.

A Punjab Police spokesperson detailed that Faridkot Police promptly registered a criminal case against DSP Rajanpal and arrested him. A First Information Report (FIR No. 289, dated July 4, 2025) was filed under Sections 7 and 8 of the Prevention of Corruption Act at City Faridkot Police Station. Additionally, stringent departmental proceedings under the Punjab Civil Services Rules will be initiated against the accused officer.
