Mann Targets Amarinder Singh: “His Family Has Never Stood with Punjab; They Dismissed Bhagat Singh as a Spoiled Child”

Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann led an impressive roadshow in Patiala on Thursday, campaigning for Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) candidates in the upcoming Municipal Corporation elections. Accompanied by AAP leaders, workers, and supporters, Mann urged residents to vote for AAP to bring significant development to the city.
The roadshow saw the participation of AAP Punjab President Aman Arora, Working President Sharry Kalsi, Cabinet Ministers Varinder Goyal and Dr. Balbir Singh, as well as several MLAs and party leaders.
Speaking to the people of Patiala, CM Mann highlighted his long-standing connection with the city, sharing, “I lived in Patiala from 1997 to 2003 and know every corner of this city. My village is also close by, and I have fond memories of this place.”
Mann expressed his gratitude for the overwhelming support AAP received during the Assembly elections, saying, “You gave us a historic mandate by electing AAP on all nine seats in Patiala. I am confident that this time, you will again extend your support and help us restore Patiala’s glory. Together, we’ll elevate this city to new heights.”
Development Plans for Patiala
Mann announced the inauguration of a boutique hotel, Ranwas, at Qila Mubarak around January 15, 2025. He said, “This will be India’s first boutique hotel, bringing global recognition to Patiala. People who typically choose destinations like Jaipur or Udaipur for weddings and events will now consider Patiala.”

The Chief Minister highlighted his government’s achievements over the past two and a half years, including:
- 50,000 government jobs provided on merit without corruption.
- Opening Mohalla Clinics and upgrading government hospitals.
- Transforming government schools to world-class standards.
- Providing free electricity to 90% of households and ample daytime power for farmers without cuts.
- Ensuring canal water supply for agriculture.
“All of this was possible because our intentions are honest,” Mann said. “Unlike previous governments, we’re not in politics to earn money or secure business deals. We’re here to serve the three crore people of Punjab with integrity.”
Attack on Captain Amarinder Singh
Mann delivered a scathing critique of former Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh, accusing him and his family of consistently betraying Punjab’s interests. “Whether it was the Mughal era, British rule, or Congress and Akali Dal governments, Captain’s family always aligned with those in power. Now, they are with the BJP. Their political relevance in Punjab is over,” Mann asserted.
He further accused Amarinder’s family of opposing Bhagat Singh’s revolutionary spirit. “When Bhagat Singh raised the slogan ‘Inquilab Zindabad,’ they dismissed him and his companions as spoiled children. Such people can never stand for Punjab’s values or pride.

Appeal to Voters
Mann urged Patiala’s residents to vote based on development and a brighter future for their children. “On December 21, vote for the Jharoo symbol, not just as a button on the machine, but as a beacon of hope for common people. With an AAP mayor, Patiala will achieve unparalleled progress. The alignment of the state government and city corporation will ensure there are no political obstacles in the path of development.”
The Chief Minister concluded by calling on the people to rise above caste and religion, emphasizing that their vote could secure a better future for their city and its next generation.
