Elite Defence Academies Welcome 11 Punjab Cadets

Chandigarh, January 27

The Maharaja Ranjit Singh Armed Forces Preparatory Institute (MRSAFPI) in SAS Nagar (Mohali) has achieved a significant milestone, with 11 cadets gaining admission to the prestigious National Defence Academy (NDA) and other top defence training institutions over the past month.

Punjab’s Minister for Employment Generation, Skill Development, and Training, Aman Arora, highlighted this success as a testament to the Chief Minister Bhagwant  Mann-led Punjab Government’s dedication to grooming youth for the armed forces. He noted that 289 cadets from the institute have joined various defence training academies since its establishment.

Congratulating the cadets, Arora wished them success in their training and urged them to strive diligently to become outstanding officers.

Among the achievers:

  • Eight cadets have joined the NDA’s 155th Course: Vishvaroop Singh Grewal and Bhaskar Jain (Ludhiana), Apardeep Singh Sawhney (Patiala), Paramdeep Singh (Pathankot), Rehaan Yadav (Bathinda), Sukhpreet Singh (Sangrur), Prince Kumar Dubey, and Shaurya Vardhan Singh (Jalandhar).
  • Gurkirat Singh (Ropar) has joined the Indian Naval Academy’s (INA) 117th Course.
  • Gurnoor Singh (Bathinda) has enrolled in the Cadet Training Wing (CTW) at the Military College of Electronics and Mechanical Engineering (MCEME), Secunderabad. Notably, he secured an impressive All-India Rank of 15 in the Technical Entry Scheme (TES)-54 Course.
  • Akash Singh Kushwaha (Jalandhar) has joined the CTW at the Military College of Telecommunication Engineering (MCTE), Mhow, under the TES-54 Course.

This accomplishment further strengthens MRSAFPI’s reputation as a leading feeder institution for India’s defence services, reflecting the institute’s rigorous training and the state’s focused efforts to empower young talent.
