Fatehgarh Sahib Police Launch 12-Hour Anti-Drug Operation Under ‘War Against Drugs’ Campaign

Fatehgarh Sahib, April 27
Following the directives of Punjab DGP Gaurav Yadav and DIG Rupnagar Range Harsharan Singh Bhullar, the Fatehgarh Sahib Police conducted a 12-hour special checkpoint and night domination operation under the Yudh Nashian Virudh (War Against Drugs) campaign. The operation, running from 4 PM on Saturday to 4 AM on Sunday, was led by SSP Shubham Agarwal, who personally inspected checkpoints late at night to ensure effective execution.
Under the supervision of SP (Investigation) Rakesh Kumar Yadav, police teams, including SPs, DSPs, and station house officers, were deployed at various checkpoints across the district.
SSP Agarwal reviewed the operations at the checkpoints, expressing satisfaction with the police personnel’s efforts and engaging in discussions with them. He emphasized that the district police are working round-the-clock to eradicate drug trafficking. During the operation, teams conducted thorough checks at key locations, including near Khant village on the Chandigarh-Ludhiana road, near Yes Bank in Mandi Gobindgarh, and opposite Badali Ala Singh police station. Over 12 hours, 800 vehicles were inspected, resulting in 260 challans for violations and the impounding of 8 vehicles.
Agarwal revealed that narcotic substances were recovered under the NDPS Act during the checks. Additionally, two individuals identified as drug-addicted were admitted to a rehabilitation center for treatment.‘

Issuing a stern warning to anti-social elements, SSP Agarwal stated that no one would be allowed to disrupt law and order. He assured that strict legal action would be taken against anyone found violating the law. He added that the War Against Drugs campaign is yielding positive results and will continue with full vigor in the future.
The operation saw the participation of DSP (Headquarters) Hartesh Kaushik, DSP Bassi Pathana Raj Kumar, DSP Fatehgarh Sahib Sukhnaj Singh, station house officers, and a significant police force.
