Haryana Government Blocking Roads to Delhi Is Unconstitutional and Inhumane: Aman Arora

AAP Punjab President Aman Arora Urges Centre to Resolve Farmers’ Issues Immediately
Farmers Are the Nation’s Backbone; Unfair Treatment Is Intolerable

Chandigarh, December 6

Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Punjab President Aman Arora has criticized the Haryana Government for blocking farmers’ peaceful march to Delhi, terming the move unconstitutional and inhumane. Arora appealed to the Central Government to address the farmers’ grievances urgently and warned that suppressing peaceful protests could escalate tensions.

In his statement, Arora expressed solidarity with farmers who have been protesting at the Shambhu and Khanauri borders for the past ten months. “Punjab’s farmers have been sitting at these borders, raising legitimate concerns. They have now decided to begin a peaceful march to Delhi. However, Haryana’s prohibitory orders and restrictions are unjustified and counterproductive,” he said.

Arora slammed the BJP-led Central Government for ignoring the plight of farmers and questioned their attitude towards those who feed the nation. “Farmers are the backbone of India. They deserve respect, not disdain. The Centre must engage with farmer organizations and resolve their legitimate demands instead of treating them like second-class citizens,” he added.

Highlighting the Punjab Government’s efforts, Arora said, “Our government has tried its best to mediate and resolve these issues with the Centre, but their indifference has left farmers with no choice but to protest. Blocking these protests will only aggravate the situation.”

Oppression Violates Fundamental Rights

Arora condemned the use of barricades, tear gas, and other oppressive measures to stop farmers. “In a democratic nation where the Constitution guarantees the right to protest, such actions are unacceptable. Farmers are being denied entry to their own capital. This blatant misuse of power undermines their fundamental rights,” he said.

Arora called upon the Prime Minister and BJP leaders to change their stance. “Delhi belongs to all Indians. I urge the Central Government to meet with farmer organizations and resolve their grievances. Ignoring their plight will only deepen the crisis,” he emphasized.

Harpal Singh Cheema: BJP Must Change Its Approach Towards Farmers

Senior AAP leader and Punjab Finance Minister Harpal Singh Cheema also criticized the BJP for its neglectful attitude. “The BJP has historically looked down on farmers, ignoring their importance in sustaining the nation. Farmers deserve respect, attention, and practical solutions—not apathy and hostility,” Cheema said.

He added, “Farmers are vital to our existence. It’s time the BJP acknowledges this, engages with them constructively, and resolves their concerns. Continued neglect will only hurt the country’s growth and stability.”

AAP leaders reiterated their support for the farmers’ peaceful movement and called for immediate resolution of their demands to restore harmony and justice.
