In a dominant display, India secured a comprehensive eight-wicket victory over Bangladesh in their Super Six Group 1 match of the ICC U19 Women’s T20 World Cup. This win propelled India to the top of their group, securing their place in the semi-finals and eliminating Bangladesh from the tournament.
India Restricts Bangladesh to 64/8
After winning the toss and electing to field, India put Bangladesh under immense pressure from the outset. The Indian bowlers, led by Vaishnavi Sharma’s impressive 3/15, restricted Bangladesh to a modest 64/8 in their 20 overs. Sumaiya Akther, Bangladesh’s captain, top-scored with 21 runs.
India Chases Down Target with Ease
India’s chase was a breeze, reaching 66/2 in just 7.1 overs. Opener Gongadi Trisha led the way with an unbeaten 40 off 31 balls, hitting eight boundaries. Habiba Islam Pinky and Mst. Anisa Akter Soba picked up a wicket each for Bangladesh, but it wasn’t enough to prevent a resounding defeat.
