India will host the first-ever Kho Kho World Cup next year. The event will see the participation of 16 men’s and women’s teams from 24 countries across six continents.
The announcement was made by the Kho Kho Federation of India (KKFI).

In a statement, the KKFI said, “India is the birthplace of Kho Kho and this World Cup will showcase the rich cultural heritage and competitive spirit of the sport. Today, the game has a global presence and is played in 54 countries.”
KKFI President Sudhanshu Mittal said, “Our ultimate goal is to see Kho Kho included in the Olympics by 2032, and this World Cup is the first step towards realizing that dream.”
