India’s Under-19 team secured a convincing 7-wicket victory over Australia in the first ODI of the three-match series. Chasing a target of 185, India reached the finish line in 36 overs, thanks to half-centuries from KP Karthikeya and Mohammad Aman.
An unbeaten 153-run partnership for the fourth wicket between KP Karthikeya (85*) and captain Mohammad Aman (58*) powered India to a comfortable win. Earlier, Australia had been restricted to 184 in 49.4 overs.

All eyes were on Rahul Dravid’s son, Samit, ahead of this match.
There were speculations about his potential debut in the series, but he didn’t make the playing XI. The reason for his exclusion, whether due to team combination or an injury, remains unconfirmed.
Steve Hogan (42) and Riley Kingsley (36) were the top scorers for Australia. Leg-spinner Mohammad Anan was the pick of the Indian bowlers, claiming four wickets.
India lost three early wickets while chasing but Karthikeya and Aman steadied the ship with a brilliant partnership. Karthikeya played an aggressive innings, scoring 85* off 99 balls, including nine fours and two sixes. Aman, on the other hand, played a more controlled innings, scoring 58* off 89 balls.
The second ODI between India and Australia will be played on September 23.
