Day six of the ICC Women’s U19 World Cup features a crucial encounter between India and Sri Lanka, with both teams vying for top spot in Group A.
Sri Lanka, having won the toss and elected to field, made early inroads, reducing India to 17-2. However, Trisha Gongadi anchored the Indian innings, guiding them to 118/7 at the end of their 20 overs.
Sri Lanka’s chase has been challenging, with the Indian bowlers making early breakthroughs. Shabhnam and Joshitha VJ have picked up two wickets each, leaving Sri Lanka at 26-5 after the powerplay.

In an earlier match, the West Indies secured their place in the Super Sixes with a 53-run victory over hosts Malaysia. Despite a strong start from Malaysia, the West Indies, led by Asabi Callender’s 30 runs and Samara Ramnath’s impressive 6-4 bowling figures, emerged victorious.
