Several Indian cricketers have received nominations for the prestigious ICC Awards 2024, recognizing their outstanding performances throughout the year.
Bumrah has been nominated for two awards while Smriti is on the women’s ODI list. Arshdeep Singh (men’s T20I) and Shreyanka Patil (emerging player) are also among the nominees.
Jasprit Bumrah leads the Indian contingent with nominations for two major awards:
- Sir Garfield Sobers Trophy for Men’s Cricketer of the Year: This nomination acknowledges Bumrah’s exceptional all-round contributions across formats.
- ICC Men’s Test Cricketer of the Year: This recognizes his dominance in Test cricket.

Bumrah’s key achievements include:
- Playing a pivotal role in India’s T20 World Cup victory, taking 15 wickets in eight matches and being named Player of the Tournament.
- Dominating Test cricket with 71 wickets in 13 matches, significantly outperforming other bowlers in terms of wickets taken.
- Achieving five five-wicket hauls in Tests, with a best of 6/45 against England.
- Reaching 200 Test wickets while maintaining an exceptionally low average of 19.56, being the first bowler in history to concede less than 4000 runs for 200 wickets.
- Leading India to a memorable 295-run victory against Australia in Perth on his Test captaincy debut.
- Holding the No. 1 position in the ICC Men’s Test Bowling Rankings.

Other Indian nominees include:
- Smriti Mandhana (ICC Women’s ODI Cricketer of the Year): Mandhana scored 747 runs in 13 ODI innings, averaging 57.46 with a strike rate of 95.15. Her impressive year included four centuries and three half-centuries, with centuries against South Africa (two), Australia, and New Zealand.
- Arshdeep Singh (ICC Men’s T20I Cricketer of the Year): Arshdeep emerged as a key bowler for India in T20Is, taking 36 wickets in 18 matches at an average of 13.5. He was also a part of India’s T20 World Cup-winning team and bowled a crucial penultimate over in the final.
- Shreyanka Patil (ICC Emerging Women’s Cricketer of the Year): The 22-year-old off-spinner took 19 wickets (15 in T20Is and 4 in ODIs) and represented India at the Women’s T20 Asia Cup and the T20 World Cup.
Notably, Suryakumar Yadav, who won the ICC Men’s T20I Cricketer of the Year award for the past two years, was not nominated this time.
